Piper Evans (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse for the week of February 16-22. This is Evans' second time landing the Centennial's weekly award.
Evans tallied a game-best seven points on five goals and two assists along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 14-10 win at Stevenson on Saturday. The senior factored into the first three goals of the game with one score and two helpers. She helped ignite the team's 8-0 third quarter, which saw Washington turn a 6-5 deficit into a 13-6 advantage, with the first goal to tie the game at 6-6. Evans added two more goals in the stanza to give her three in the third. She capped the team's scoring with a down goal in the fourth quarter off of a caused turnover and ground ball created by the senior..
