LANCASTER, Pa. – Three Washington College women's lacrosse student-athletes have earned 2025 All-Centennial Conference honors today following a vote by the conference's nine head coaches. Junior attackers
Piper Evans (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) and
Mia Salvatierra (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) were named to the second team, while junior midfielder
MaryCate Anson (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) earned honorable mention status. Salvatierra is now a two-time all-conference selection, while Anson and Evans gained all-conference recognition for the first time. In addition, senior attacker
Tobin Chambers (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) represented Shorewomen Lacrosse on the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time.
Evans started in all 17 games this season and recorded career-highs in goals (41), assists (14), points (55) and free position goals (7). She was second on the team in all four categories. The junior netted personal bests in goals (5), assists (3) and points (8) in an April win over McDaniel. She notched a point every game this spring, scoring a goal in 16 games and handing out a helper in 10 contests. In 34 career games, 17 starts, she totaled 62 goals and 14 assists for 76 points.
Salvatierra, a second team selection in 2024, led the team in goals (53), assists (32), points (85) and free position goals (22) in 17 games this spring, all starts. Salvatierra tallied a point in every game played this season, including a career-best 10 points in a win versus McDaniel on April 5 and an all-time best seven goals on two occasions. Through the end of the conference tournament, she leads the conference in free position scores, second in points per game (5.00), third in points and goals per game (3.12) and sixth in goals, assists and assists per game (1.88). In 52 career games, all starting assignments, she has 123 goals and 65 assists for 188 points to go along with 52 ground balls and 29 draw controls.
Anson, who played and started in all 17 games this spring, won a team-best 94 draw controls and picked up 48 ground balls to lead the Shorewomen as she also scored nine goals and added seven assists for 16 points. She set the program record for draw controls in game twice this season, winning 12 versus Christopher Newport on March 26 and then on April 5, broke her own mark with 13 draws in a win against McDaniel. The junior picked up seven ground balls in contests versus York (Pa.) on March 5 and Montclair St. on March 19. Her 94 draws are the third most in a single season in program history. Through the end of the Centennial Conference Tournament, the junior is second in draws and draws per game (5.53) and third in ground balls and ground balls per game (2.82).
The Centennial Conference also announced its All-Sportsmanship Team for women's lacrosse and Morris was the Shorewomen's representative on that team. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship for the All-Sportsmanship Team. Nominations were submitted by the head coaches. This is the first time Morris has been named to the team. Chambers scored 31 goals and tallied 34 points in 17 games, all starts, this spring. She played in 61 games, 55 starts, in her career for the team with 103 goals and 114 points.
Since 2011, Washington had 21 first team selections, 22 second team picks and seven earn honorable mention recognition for a total of 50 all-conference selections.
