Robertson Career-Best 10 Saves

DOVER, Del. – Visiting Washington College got a career-best 10 save performance from senior goalkeeper Sadie Robertson (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) and scored a goal in each half on its way to a 2-0 win over host Wesley on Sunday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Drass Field.  The Shorewomen improve to 5-3 overall, while the Wolverines drop to 1-8.

How It Happened
-Wesley's Taylor Timmons almost put the hosts ahead at the 21:36 mark of the first half, but her shot was stopped on a defensive save by senior Jordan Mitchell
-Junior Jenn Miller put the Shorewomen ahead for good with 9:04 left in the first half when he loft shot found the inside of the cage from the left side.
-The Wolverines had five shots in the second half while trailing 1-0 to try to get the equalizer, but Robertson made two saves and three were wide of the goal.
-Wesley's Morgan Seymour made three defensive saves in a 13-second span of the second half to keep the game 1-0 Washington.
-Washington was awarded a penalty stroke at the 56:57 mark, just 21 seconds after Seymour's third defensive save, and junior Elizabeth Davis cashed in on the stroke to the high left of the goal to give the guests a two-goal cushion.
-The Wolverines had five more shots to get onto the board after Davis' score, but Robertson made four saves and the fifth was off target.

-Wesley had 20 shots and nine penalty corners.

Notes
-Washington has won three straight games.
-Mitchell's defensive save was the Shorewomen's first of the season.
-Opponents have six defensive saves this year.
-The Shorewomen lead the all-time series with the Wolverines 17-6.
