SALISBURY, Md. – Host #2 Salisbury retained the Charles B. Clark Cup with a 14-2 victory over visiting Washington College at Sea Gull Stadium on Wednesday evening in the annual "War on the Shore" in non-conference men's lacrosse action.

How It Happened
-Salisbury scored 37 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal from James Burton.  Just 1:53 later the Sea Gulls made it 2-0 when Thomas Cirillo made it 2-0 on an unassisted tally.
-Washington made it 2-1 with 10:31 to go in the first quarter when Tanner Barbieri found a cutting Tyler Powers for the Shoremen's first goal.
-Nathan Blondino restored Salisbury's two-goal lead with 8:11 to go in the first quarter on a feed from Carson Kalama.  The Sea Gulls made it 4-1 with 3:18 left in the first on a Jake Rotman goal from Christian Ottenritte and just 43 ticks later Garrett Reynolds netted an unassisted tally to push the lead to 5-1.
-The Sea Gulls outscored the Shoremen by a 4-0 margin in the second quarter to take a 9-1 lead into halftime.
-The Shoremen opened the scoring in the third quarter 1:41 into the quarter on a Nick Boyles goal from Matty Allen to cut the lead to 9-2, but Kalama finished off a Rotman feed to give the Sea Gulls a 10-2 lead.  Salisbury tacked on two more goals in the quarter to take a 12-2 lead into the fourth.
-In the fourth quarter, Salisbury scored two goals to provide the final margin

For The Shoremen (3-2)
-Boyles (one goal), Powers (one goal), Allen (one assist), Barbieri (one assist)
-In Goal: Ben Flood (60:00, 10 goals allowed, 14 saves)
-Washington was 16-for-20 in clears in the contest.

For Salisbury (8-0)
- Kalama (two goals, two assists), Cirillo (two goals, one assist), Brendan Bromwell (two goals), Ottenritte and Rotman (one goal, one assist)
-In Goal: Joshua Dean (52:05, two goals allowed, eight saves), Anthony Stavrakis (4:58, no goals allowed, one save), Hayden Donnelly (2:57, zero goals allowed, zero saves)
-The Sea Gulls held a 38-25 advantage in shots, 24-18 in ground balls and were 16-for-20 in clears.
-Salisbury won 10 of the 19 face-offs in the game.

Notes
-It was the 50th all-time meeting between the Eastern Shore rivals dating back to 1974.  Salisbury leads the all-time series 30-20.

-The two teams have split a pair of all-time meetings, both winning at home.  Washington won 12-7 in 2014 and Frostburg St. prevailed 14-9 in 2015.
