#16 Ursinus Uses 6-0 Run To Defeat Shoremen, 10-4

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Sixteenth ranked Ursinus got 14 saves from Brian Neff and finished the game on a 6-0 run as the host Bears defeated visiting Washington College 10-4 in a Centennial Conference men's lacrosse game tonight on Patterson Field in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. The Bears improve to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial with the win, while the Shoremen dropped to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial with the loss.

How It Happened
- Sophomore attackman Tanner Barbieri scored the first goal of the night with 3:59 to go in the first quarter off an assist from sophomore attackman Tyler Powers to take a 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore midfielder Austin Hepburn III scored an unassisted goal with 21 seconds left in the quarter as the Shoremen took a 2-0 lead after the first quarter.
- Ursinus scored three goals in the first 3:34 of the second quarter to take a 3-2 lead. Logan Panaccione started the run 49 seconds into the quarter, followed by a goal from Conor Fitzgerald and an extra man goal by Gerard Brown with 11:26 to play in the half. 
- Sophomore midfielder Pat McManus scored off an assist from junior midfielder Matty Allen to tie the game at three with 7:15 to play in the quarter.
- Brown's second goal of the quarter with 4:47 to go gave Ursinus a 4-3 lead, which they took into halftime.
- Barbieri's second goal of the night with exactly eight minutes to play in the third quarter tied the game up 4-4.
- The Bears then held the Shoremen off the scoreboard for the final 23 minutes and finished the game on a 6-0 run. Tucker Noel gave Ursinus the lead for good with 6:08 to play, followed by goals from Mike Durst and Panaccione to give the Bears a 7-4 lead after three quarters.
- The Shoremen fired off 13 shots in the fourth quarter, but were held off the scoreboard as the Bears scored three more times to provide the final margin.

- Goalie: Ben Flood (10 saves, 10 goals allowed, 60:00)
- Senior face-off specialist William Rate IV went 9-for-10 at the face-off X as the Shoremen won 10 of the games 17 face-offs.
- The Shoremen turned the ball over 24 times and went 0-for-7 on extra man opportunities.

For #16 Ursinus (10-1, 4-0 CC)
- Scorers: Brown (3 goals, 3 assists), Panaccione (2 goals), Peter DeSimone (1 goal, 1 assist), Fitzgerald (1 goal), Durst (1 goal), Noel (1 goal), Ian Desenberg (1 goal)
- Goalie: Neff (14 saves, 4 goals allowed, 60:00)
- The Bears outshot Washington 44-31 and held a slim 31-28 advantage in ground balls.
- Ursinus turned the ball over 22 times, were 18-for-25 on clear attempts, and went 1-for-3 on their extra man opportunities.
