Flood makes a career high 17 saves in the loss

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Seventh ranked Gettysburg finished the game on a 9-1 run en route to a 10-3 Centennial Conference win over host Washington College in a men's lacrosse game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Bullets improve to 12-2 overall and finish the regular season a perfect 8-0 in the conference, while the Shoremen conclude their season at 7-8 overall and 3-5 in the Centennial.

How It Happened
- Tyler Powers got the scoring started for the Shoremen 1:59 into the game, scoring a goal off an assist from Matty Allen.
- Gettysburg finally got on the board with 2:51 to go in the quarter on an unassisted goal from Andrew Garskta to tie the game at 1-1.
- Peter Jacobs put the Shoremen back in front with a goal off a Tanner Barbieri assist to give Washington a 2-1 lead with 12:31 to go in the second quarter. 
- The Bullets then went on a 4-0 run to take control of the game. Back to back goals from Jameson Smith gave Gettysburg the lead for good at 3-2 with 10:01 to play in the second quarter. Paul Werner extended the Bullets lead to 4-2 on an unassisted goal with 6:29 to go in the quarter.
- Blake Gray rounded out the first half scoring with 8 seconds to go to give Gettysburg a 5-2 lead going to the half.
- Powers scored off an assist from Barbieri to cut the Bullets lead to 5-3 with 3:28 to play in the third quarter, but a Tommy Heller unassisted goal with 31 seconds to play in the quarter gave the Bullets a 6-3 lead after three quarters.
- Ben Flood made six saves in the third quarter for the Shoremen while allowing just one goal to keep Washington in the game.
- The Bullets would then outscore the Shoremen 4-0 in the final quarter, as goals from four different Bullets players provided the final 10-3 margin. 

For the Shoremen (7-8, 3-5 CC)
- Scorers: Powers (2 goals), Barbieri (2 assists), Jacobs (1 goal), Allen (1 assist).
- Goalie: Flood (career high 17 saves, 10 goals allowed, 60:00).
- Kyle Gangemi went 11-for-13 on face-offs and also scooped up a team high 5 ground balls.
- The Shoremen won 13 of the game's 17 face-offs and had a 39-28 lead in ground balls.

For #7 Gettysburg (12-2, 8-0 CC)
- Scorers: Werner (2 goals, 2 assists), Smith (2 goals, 1 assist), Gray (2 goals), Garstka (2 goals), Heller (1 goal, 1 assist), Justin McBride (1 goal, 1 assist).
- Goalie: Jake Adoni (11 saves, 3 goals allowed, 60:00).
- Geoff Davis scooped up a game high eight ground balls and also caused a game high four turnovers.
- Bill McAvoy added six ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Bullets defense.
- The Bullets held a 36-29 advantage in shots and forced 20 Washington turnovers.
- Gettysburg turned the ball over nine times in the game, including just two turnovers in the second half.
-Both teams went 0-for-2 on extra man opportunities.

Notes
- The Bullets finish the regular season a perfect 8-0 in the Centennial Conference.
- Flood's 17 saves were the most by a Shoremen goaltender in a game since Ted DiSalvo made 17 saves against Stevenson in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
