Four Different Players Net Hat Tricks In The Win

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Host Washington College picked up their fourth consecutive win with a 16-12 victory over visiting Haverford in a Centennial Conference men's lacrosse game played tonight on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Stephen DeLeo put the Fords ahead 1-0 with a goal 2:53 into the contest before Casey Grieves and Joe Tobin scored two straight unassisted goals to put the Shoremen ahead 2-1 with 8:47 left in the opening quarter.
- Two straight unassisted goals from Ben Frost and Brian Geffroy gave Haverford a 3-2 lead with 4:59 left in the quarter before Washington scored the last three goals of the quarter to take a 5-3 lead after the first, the last an extra-man goal from Cody Pascale off an assist from Nick Boyles with 27 seconds to play.
- The Fords scored the first two goals of the second quarter to tie the game at 5-5 with 8:01 to go following a goal from Blake Brinster. 
- Washington would use a 4-0 run to take the lead back for good. Lawrence Park won the face-off after the goal from Brinster and fed Cooper Sloan for a goal six seconds later to put the Shoremen ahead at 6-5. Pascale followed with his second extra-man goal of the night off a Boyles assist to set the score at 7-5. Grieves scored off an assist from Sloan with 3:37 to go to make it 8-5, and Trey Ritter capped the run, scoring off a Grieves assist with 2:28 to go to set the score at 9-5.
- Frost capped the first half scoring with an extra-man goal with 43 seconds to go to set the halftime score at 9-6.
- An extra-man goal from Sean Mowatt-Larssen 24 seconds into the third quarter cut the lead to 9-7 before goals from Kevin Trapp and Tobin gave Washington an 11-7 lead with 9:19 to play in the third quarter.
- Geffroy scored off an assist from Ben Fujinaga with 7:56 to play in the quarter to cut the lead to 11-8 before Grieves and Trapp scored the last two goals of the quarter to give the Shoremen a 13-8 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- A goal from Trapp off an assist from Sloan gave Washington their largest lead of the night at 14-8 with 9:25 to play.
- Two straight goals from the Fords cut the lead to 14-10 with 7:10 to go before Ritter scored an unassisted goal to push the lead back up to 15-10 with 6:09 left.
- Haverford would again score two straight goals to cut the lead to 15-12 with 2:01 to play following an extra-man goal from Wyatt Feinberg, but Park won the next face-off and Ritter scored off a Boyles assist with 53 seconds to go to set the score at 16-12 and cap the scoring.  

For the Shoremen (6-6 Overall, 3-2 Centennial Conference)
- Scorers: Grieves (4 goals, 2 assists), Ritter (3 goals, 2 assists), Tobin (3 goals), Trapp (3 goals), Boyles (career high 4 assists), Pascale (2 goals), Sloan (1 goal, 2 assists), Park (1 assist).
- Goalie: Chris Del Rosario (14 saves, 12 goals allowed, 60:00).
- Park led all players with 11 ground balls, while Kevin Wilson led the Shoremen defensively with a pair of caused turnovers.
- The Shoremen held a 54-42 advantage in shots and turned the ball over 10 times, while forcing 14 turnovers from Haverford.
