Prestianne Hits Seven Free Throws In Overtime As Shorewomen Outlast Immaculata, 62-59

Immaculata, Pa. – Junior guard Andrea Prestianne scored seven of her game-high 16 points in overtime to help lead the Washington College women's basketball team to a road win over the Immaculata Mighty Macs, 62-59, on Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Hall. The Shorewomen, playing in their final game of the year, improve to 7-3 while the hosts drop to 5-2. The Shorewomen are now off to their best start since the 2008-09 season when they jumped out with an 8-2 mark.

How it Happened
- Washington College scored seven consecutive points to grab a 9-2 lead nearly four minutes into the contest. Junior forward Lizzie Hudock converted inside, sophomore forward Kaleigh White knocked down a trey, and freshman guard Karry Kelliher finished a layup to account for the scoring.
- The Shorewomen led 14-6 after a put-back layup by junior guard Joy Sanders with 1:16 left in the first quarter, however, Immaculata went on a 10-2 run to even the game at 16-16 with 6:40 left before the intermission. Junior guard Morgan Falcone swished a right-corner triple of cap the stretch.
- The game was still even at 19-19 midway through the second stanza but the Maroon & White rattled off nine straight points to take their largest lead of the half at 28-19 with 2:54 remaining. Prestianne converted a pair from the stripe, sophomore forward Serena Pluta and Kelliher followed with layups, and senior guard Crystal Jones stuck a long-range bomb to account for the scoring.
- Washington settled for a 30-23 halftime advantage.
- Jones hit a jumper for the opening hoop of the third quarter to give the visitors a 32-23 advantage.
- White converted one of two from the line to spot the Shorewomen their largest lead of the afternoon at 38-28 with 2:32 left in the third.
- However, Immaculata went on a 15-7 run to close within 45-43 with 4:20 left in regulation.
- Sanders stemmed the tide with a layup to make it 47-43 on the next possession, but the hosts scored five straight points to take their first lead of the game at 48-47 with 2:42 left after a layup by junior forward Kaitlyn Racobaldo,
- Sophomore forward Alyssa Hawes answered with a clutch jumper to re-store a 49-48 edge at the 2:22 mark but Racobaldo then made two free throws to spot her team a 50-49 lead with 2:12 to play.
- Prestianne made two from the charity-stripe to give Washington a 51-50 lead with 1:08 left and then Jones split her two attempts to extend the lead to 52-50 with just twenty-eight seconds in regulation.
- Immaculata forced overtime with a last second jumper by junior guard Erin Kelly.
- The hosts fired the first salvo in the extra session as junior guard Morgan Falcone converted a jumper with 4:19 left.
- Prestianne knotted the score with two clutch free throws at the 3:39 mark and Jones followed with a layup to give the Shorewomen a 56-54 edge with 2:46 left.
- Prestianne knocked down two more from the line to widen the lead to 58-54 with 1:47 left but freshman forward Abigail Lentowski answered with a layup to cut the lead to 58-56 at the 1:30 mark.
- Senior guard Madeline Williams and Prestianne both went one of two from the line to extend the lead to 60-56 with just 17 ticks left but freshman guard Abigail Boyer stuck a three to cut the deficit to 60-59 with just four seconds on the clock.
- Prestianne was intentionally fouled with three seconds left and then converted both free throw attempts for the 62-59 lead and the hosts were unable to get a final shot off at the buzzer.

 For the Shorewomen
- Prestianne struggled from the field (2-for-11) but hit 11-of-12 free throws in the contest.
- Jones added 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting and added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
- Sanders finished with nine points on 4-of-8 shooting and added five boards.
- Pluta tied a career-high with 10 caroms.
- Washington shot 37.5 percent overall (21-of-56), were 4-of-12 (33.3 percent) from deep, and converted 16-of-24 from the line (66.7 percent).
- The Shoremen outscored the hosts by a 32-14 mark inside the paint.

 For the Mighty Macs
- Forward Theresa Kearney, a graduate student, paced the hosts with 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting and also added five boards.
- Racobaldo and Rook both scored 10 points
- Lentowski grabbed a team-high 10 boards.
- Immaculata made 20-of-65 field goals (30.8 percent), went 7-for-26 from downtown (26.9 percent), and made 12-of-15 free throws (80 percent).

Notes
- Prestianne is now shooting a team-high 86 percent (43-of-50) from the foul line. She has reached double-figures in scoring in all but one contest this season.
- The Shorewomen are holding opponents to a combined 27.4 field goal percentage for the season, which ranks second in the country.
- Washington is allowing just 48.7 points per game through the first 10 contests, which is ninth in the country.
