Shorewomen Suffer Setback to Bullets, 70-61

Hudock Collects Double-Double in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - - - Despite a game-high 15 points from junior guard Andrea Prestianne, the Washington College Shorewomen fell to Centennial Conference foe Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium. The loss snapped a five-game win streak for Washington College, who fell to 11-4 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Meanwhile, the Bullets improved to 12-2 overall and remained perfect in conference play (10-0).

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen went blow-for-blow with the Bullets in the first quarter, leading by as much as seven and closing the frame with a three-point edge. Prestianne poured in eight of the team's 17 first-quarter points to pace the scoring effort.
- Gettysburg's Mackenzie Tinner responded with an eight-point quarter of her own, helping the Bullets navigate a period with four ties and three lead changes to take a one-point advantage into the break, 37-36.
- Despite the best effort of the Shorewomen, Gettysburg's Carly Rice penned her name on the second half. Rice dropped 10 points in the third quarter, including a three at the buzzer to place the visitors ahead by three through 30 minutes.
- Junior forward Lizzie Hudock paired up with Prestianne to tally nine of Washington's 10 points in the final quarter, but the Shorewomen failed to overcome the Gettysburg offense over the final frame.
- Over the final 10 minutes, the Bullets won the rebound battle 15-7 to end the day +5 on the glass.

For The Shorewomen
- Hudock tallied her second career double-double, collecting 14 points while adding seven offensive rebounds and a total of 10 boards in the effort.
- Prestianne finished 6-of-16 from the field, grabbing four boards and three assists to compliment the 15-point performance.
- Senior guard Crystal Jones also reached a double-digit tally, scoring 11 with four rebounds and two steals.
- Junior guard Joy Sanders added eight points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes of play.
- Washington shot 37.1 percent overall (23-of-62), made 2-of-13 3's (15.4 percent) and were 13-of-18 from the line (72.2 percent).

For the Bullets
- Four Gettysburg players finished in double-digits, with Rice tallying a team-high 13 points. Mackenzie Szlosek recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards in the game.
- The Bullets shot 38.1 percent from the field (24-of-63). They made 5-of-21 from beyond the arc (23.8 percent) and finished shooting 77.3 percent from the charity stripe (17-of-22).

- Hudock was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game.

- The Shorewomen will pack their bags and prepare to end the month of January on a three-game road trip. They travel to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
