Box Score Baltimore, Md – The Washington College women's basketball team dropped a 58-35 decision against the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, in a Centennial Conference contest on Tuesday evening at Goldfarb Gym. The Shorewomen fall to 11-5 (7-4) while the Blue Jays improve to 14-2 (11-1).
How It Happened
 - The hosts led from start to finish as they grabbed a 7-2 advantage just three minutes into the contest. Senior guard Diarra Oden, the reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Week, scored five quick points for the Blue Jays.
 - Junior forward Lizzie Hudock scored inside and hit a pair of free throws to bring Washington within 9-6 with 3:02 left in the opening stanza.
 - Johns Hopkins took control of the contest as they scored the final 11 points to grab a 20-6 lead after the opening stanza. Junior guard Emily Howie ignited the run with five consecutive points and Oden scored the next six, including a pair of three-point plays.
 - The Blue Jays, who swept the season-series, widened their lead to 24-8 on a layup by freshman forward Greta Miller with 7:57 left in the second quarter.
 - The Shorewomen trimmed the deficit to 24-12 as sophomore center Serena Pluta and senior guard Crystal Jones scored on back-to-back layups at the 6:55 mark.
 - The hosts responded with a 10-2 burst to grab their biggest lead of the half, 34-14, with 1:30 left before the break and took a 34-16 advantage into the locker room.
 - Howie drained a pair of treys over the first 2:30 of the third quarter to give Johns Hopkins a commanding 40-16 advantage.
 - Washington was unable to make up any ground the rest of the way.
For the Shorewomen
 - Pluta paced Washington with 11 points and added a team-high 3 rejections.
 - Hudock contributed 6 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
For the Blue Jays
 - Howie (4 treys) finished with her second double-double of the season (18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists).
 - Oden contributed 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
Notes
 - The Shorewomen made 12-of-59 field goals (20.3 percent), were 0-for-5 from deep and converted 11-of-16 (68.8 percent) from the foul line.
 - The Blue Jays were 20-of-54 from the field (37.0 percent), hit 8-of-24 from distance (33.3 percent) and went 10-of-13 (76.9 percent) from the charity stripe.
 - Johns Hopkins outrebounded Washington by a 43-41 margin.
 - The Shorewomen did not make a 3-pointer in either game versus the Blue Jays this season.
