Seahawks Use Big Third Quarter to Down Shoremen, 15-12

Temple Scores Four Times and Passes Out Two Assists; Domenech Tallies Career-High Four Goals

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Host St. Mary's (Md.) outscored visiting Washington College 5-0 in the third quarter to lead 11-7 after three and registered a 15-12 win over visiting Washington College in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.  The Seahawks improve to 7-1 on the season, while the Shoremen drop to 1-4.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen struck 76 seconds into the game as Luke Brennan scored an unassisted goal before the Seahawks tied it six ticks later on a Mitch Boudreau unassisted score after he won the face-off.
- After Ewan Temple put Washington back ahead 2-1 with 6:59 left in the first quarter, St. Mary's scored the last three goals of the first to take a 4-2 lead after one as Aidan Doyle scored with seven seconds to go.
- Trailing 5-3 with 10:50 to go in the second quarter, Washington scored the next four goals to take a 7-5 lead with 2:36 left on a Kain Domenech score from Brennan.  Doyle would get one back for the hosts with 23 seconds to go on a pass from Jude Brown to trim it to 7-6 at halftime.
- St. Mary's scored all five goals in the third quarter to take an 11-7 lead after three with Brown scoring the final goal of the third with 3:58 to go with Jack Brocato notching the helper.  He also gave the Seahawks the lead with 12:32 remaining from Reese Small that made it 8-7.
- In the fourth quarter, Washington would get it within three on four occasions, the final one coming with 2:09 left on a Domenech goal from Brennan that cut it to 15-12 but could draw no closer as St. Mary's held on for the win.

For The Shoremen (1-4)
- Scoring: Temple (four goals and two assists for six points), Domenech (career-highs of four goals and four points), Brady McFalls (two goals), Brennan (one goal and two assists), Kyle Gittelman (goal and helper)
- In Goal: Ryan Leahy (60:00, 16 goals allowed, 15 saves)
- TC White (personal-best five ground balls) and Gittelman and Dylan Kilroy (three caused turnovers)
- Jack Theriault went 8-for-16 in face-offs.
- Washington was 25-for-31 in clears in the contest and was 0-for-5 on the man-up.
- The Shoremen had 26 turnovers, while causing 11 St. Mary's turnovers.

For St. Mary's (Md.) (7-1)
- Scoring: Doyle (game-best five goals; six points), Doyle (two goals and two assists), Jake Levey (two scores), Brocato (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Kyrie Preis (60:00, 12 goals allowed, eight saves)
- Boudreau won 13-of-20 face-offs and Sam Jaudon went 7-for-11 at the X as the Seahawks won 20 of the 31 face-offs in the contest.  Boudreau also led all players with 10 ground balls in the game.
- The Seahawks were 20-for-26 in clears, 1-for-4 in man-up situations and turned it over 24 times, while notching seven caused turnovers.
- St. Mary's held a 45-32 edge in shots and 46-32 advantage in ground balls.

Notes
- Kilroy notched a career-best three caused turnovers for the Shoremen.
