Highlights

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College men's lacrosse team fell to Stockton University in its home opener, 12-9 on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr Stadium.

How it happened
- The Shoremen (0-2) got on the board first. With just over three minutes gone in the first quarter, junior attackman Brady McFalls buried an unassisted goal to put the hosts up 1-0.
- Stockton (2-1) found their answer just a few minutes later when senior attackman Dante Poli set up his classmate, attackman Luc Swedland, for the finish. Swedland's tally knotted the game at 1-1.
- With 1:04 to go in the opening stanza, junior attackman Luke Brennan cashed in on a feed from senior attackman Ewan Temple to return the lead to Washington. The Shoremen doubled up seconds into the second quarter as freshman middie Cory Morgan collected his third score of the year to give his side a 3-1 advantage.
- After a second Swedlund goal, the Shoremen snuck two more shots into the net. Morgan found sophomore attackman/midfielder Trevor Ivatts for a finish, and sophomore attackman Jack Theriault took the faceoff win all the way and cashed it in. After this sequence, the hosts held a 5-2 lead.
- Later in the second, Stockton collected two goals in the span of 32 seconds. Both senior midfielder Eric D'Arminio and sophomore midfielder Noam Levy-Smith buried unassisted goals to cut the lead to one.
- With less than two minutes remaining in the half, Washington junior middie Kain Domenech scored to set the halftime score, 6-4.
- The first nine minutes of the third quarter remained scoreless. That spell ended with a pair of Swedlund goals for the Ospreys, while sophomore attackman Reegan Capozzoli cashed in on a feed from Poli to give Stockton their first advantage of the contest, 7-6.
- With just three seconds remaining on the third quarter clock, McFalls returned the game to a tie with a last second finish, 7-7.
- The fourth started with the two sides trading goals. Poli scored less than 90 seconds into the period, answered by an unassisted finish from Morgan. Swedlund scored a few minutes later, which was answered by Washington freshman middie Caden Hallinan.
