Shoremen Handle Green Terror to Win Third Straight, 14-9

Temple Tallies Career-Highs of Four Assists and Nine Points; Ties Personal-Best with Five Scores

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Visiting Washington College raced out to an 8-1 lead and never trailed on its way to a 14-9 win over host McDaniel in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Gill Stadium as WC senior attackman Ewan Temple (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) tied his career-best with five goals and set personal-highs with four assists and nine points.  The Shoremen, who have won three in a row, improve to 4-8 on the season and 3-3 in the conference opener, while the Green Terror slip to 4-11 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

How It Happened
- Temple scored three of Washington's first four goals in the first 7:17 of the game to give the Shoremen a 4-0 lead.  Mac Hale assisted on the first three scores by WC.
- McDaniel would cut it to 4-1 with 1:38 left in the first quarter as Dom Calderoni scored and Nick DeLoriers notching the helper and that was the score after one.
- The Shoremen scored the first four goals of the second quarter to take an 8-1 lead on Temple's fifth of the game with 5:44 left on a pass from Caden Hallinan.
- Calderoni scored from DeLoriers with 1:41 left in the second as the Green Terror scored the last three of the second to reduce the deficit to 8-4 at halftime.
- The Green Terror scored two of the first three goals of the third to cut the Shoremen's lead to 9-6 with 3:13 left on a Calderoni tally from Jason Fritz.
- Ben Dickinson would answer with two straight to close out the third for Washington as the guests took an 11-6 lead heading into the fourth.
- Each team scored three times in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (4-8, 3-3 CC)
- Scoring: Temple (five goals, four assists and nine points; career-bests in assists and points and ties personal-high in goals), Dickinson (four goals to set career-best), Hale (personal-best four assists),  Logan Clefisch (two goals)
- In Goal: Ryan Leahy (60:00, nine goals allowed, eight saves)
- Tyler Bishop (five ground balls and two caused turnovers), Dylan Kilroy (two caused turnovers).
- Gabe Velasquez (11-for-15 on face-offs).
- The Shoremen held a 44-30 advantage in shots and won 17 of the game's 27 face-offs.
- Washington was 20-for-24 in clears in the contest and was 1-for-3 on the man-up.
- Washington had 11 turnovers, while causing 10 McDaniel turnovers and picked up 29 ground balls.

For McDaniel (4-11, 0-6 CC)
- Scoring: Calderoni (five goals), DeLoriers (four assists), Fritz (goal and two assists), Eric Manfredonia (two goals), Nick Wingo (two helpers)
- In Goal: Brighton Lorber (60:00, 14 goals allowed, 15 saves)
- Luke Shires (five ground balls)
- The Green Terror were 20-for-23 in clears, 0-for-2 in man-up situations and turned it over 17 times, while notching eight caused turnovers.
- McDaniel scooped up 29 ground balls.

Notes
- Washington extended its winning streak over McDaniel to 22 straight games and has now won 47 games all-time versus McDaniel, the most against any one opponent.
- This is the Shoremen's first three-game winning streak since 2019 when the team won four in a row.
- Temple has 14 goals and seven assists in his past three games for 21 points.
- Hale notched his first multi-assist game of his career tonight.
