Gillian Hanson Named Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Washington College Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Megan Keelan has named Gillian Hanson as the Assistant Coach for the program. 

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Gill to the Washington College family," states Keelan. "Her energy, experience and passion for the game will be a tremendous asset for the program especially within our defensive unit."

Hanson coached at Manhattanville University during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, while earning a Masters Degree in Sports Business and Entertainment Management. While coaching, she helped the Manhattanville Valiants achieve the most wins in program history in 2023. During her tenure in Harrison, NY, she coached multiple All-Conference, All-ECAC and All-IWLCA Academic Team Athletes. 

Hanson played lacrosse  at Ithaca College from 2018-2022 and graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in education. 

Hanson is a three time NCAA Tournament Participant and made it to the Elite Eight in 2021. In 2022, her team made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the Tournament and recorded the most wins in program history.
