Chestertown, MD - The Washington College Trap and Skeet Team looks to begin their 2025-26 on Sunday, August 31st. The Shoremen and Shorewomen look to chase their 2022-23 season where they were named 2023 Division III Super Sporting Clays National Champions.
Last Season:
Last season the team finished ninth overall at the ACUI-SCTP National Championships. Overall, in all six events, WCTS finished in 9th place out of 31 Division III Colleges with a combined score of 2665/3000. This was WCTS's highest overall finish in the program's history. Besides their trip the National Championship, the team grabbed first at the Upper East Coast Conference Championships and first at the Blue Hen Classic.
Returning for the Shoremen and Shorewomen:
The Shoremen will return Sophomores, MJ Rosenstiel and Gracie Heintzelman. Rosenstiel shot a perfect 50 for 50 targets to win skeet in the Battle of the Bay Competition last season and took the highest overall title at the ACUI/SCTP Upper East Coast Conference Championships. He also earned 2/900 for men's combines trap/skeet at ACUI National Championships. Heintzelman earned second place in doubles trap and first place in American trap at Battle of the Bay Competition and earned an 89/100 in American doubles trap at ACUI National Championships.
Key competitions:
Washington College Trap and Skeet will open up their competition season at the WTA Pre Labor Day Shoot in Newark, DE on Sunday, August 31st. They will host the Battle of the Bay competition in Sudlersville, MD on October 5th and will return to the ACUI Upper and Lower East Coast Conference Championships in November and February. The team will travel back to San Antonio, TX for the ACUI College Clay Target Championships, March 15-21.
