LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Skeet Hine (Phoenix, Md./Boys' Latin) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week in men's lacrosse for the week of March 2-8. This is the first time he has earned the conference's weekly award.
Hine tallied a 4.25 goals against average and .750 save percentage in 84:44 of action in a pair of wins for the Shoremen this past week, stopping 18 of 24 shots on goal. On Saturday in a 11-6 win over visiting Catholic, the sophomore netminder turned away a career-best 13 shots in addition to picking up two ground balls and a caused turnover. Hine stopped six shots in the final 25:41 of the game which saw Washington outscore Catholic 6-1. On Tuesday in a 17-7 win versus visiting Susquehanna, he stopped five shots in 24:44.
The sophomore is the first Shoreman to win the defensive player of the week since
Gabe Velasquez '24 on March 28, 2023.
