GREENWOOD, Ind. — Three Washington College baseball players have been named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District®. Recent graduates, infielder Drew Kinsey (Monkton, Md./Hereford), pitcher Elias Philiposian (Woolwich Township, N.J./Paul VI) and infielder Chase Ruppel (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) were selected to the Academic All-District® team by members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Kinsey and Ruppel advanced to the national ballot and will be eligible to be named a CSC All-America®, which will be announced on June 23.

The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.  To be on the team, a student-athlete must have a GPA (grade-point average) of at least 3.50 and is not rounded up.  This is the first time both have been named to the team.

Kinsey, an All-Centennial Conference and D3baseball.com Region V first team pick and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region 5 second team selection, Kinsey, set the Shoremen record for runs scored in a season (60) and walks in a campaign (37), while setting a personal-high for stolen bases in a season (29) and on-base percentage in a campaign (.510) to lead the team. He hit .347 with eight home runs, 34 RBI and career-bests of hits (50), doubles (10) and triples (3) and equaling most times hit by a pitch in a season (15). He started in all 42 games this season, which set a program record in games played and started in a single season. This is the third straight season Kinsey has garnered Academic All-District® honors.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science last month and graduated with a 3.872 grade-point average.

Philiposian, who was All-Centennial Conference honorable mention, was the team's top reliever this season leading the squad in saves with seven while going 2-2 with a 3.76 ERA in 17 outings in 26.1 innings pitched. The senior struck out 15 hitters and held opponents to a .196 average. He picked up his seventh and final save of the season in game one win at Gettysburg on April 26. Five of his seven saves came in conference play with four of them securing one-run wins as the team went 7-1 in one-run games in Centennial action. This is the first time Philiposian has earned Academic All-District® honors.

He garnered his Bachelor of Arts in Economics last month and graduated with a 3.764 grade-point average.

Ruppel, an All-Centennial Conference honorable mention honoree, set the Washington College program record in both home runs (14) and RBI (53) this season, while hitting a career-best .354 at the plate in starting in all 42 games, which tied the program mark in games played and started with Kinsey. The senior also set personal-highs in runs (47), hits (56), triples (2), slugging (.722), walks (32), on-base percentage (.480), OPS (1.202), stolen bases (8) and putouts (308), while tying for most at bats in a season (158).
