Box Score Fort Pierce, Fla. - - -The Washington College Baseball team completed their nine-game spring beak trip in Florida with a 12-4 triumph against Franciscan (3-8) on Saturday morning. The Shoremen went 8-1 in the Sunshine State and have now won seven straight games to improve to 11-4. Washington produced a season-high eight doubles in the contest.
How It Happened
- The Barons jumped out to a 3-0 lead as they scored three unearned runs in the top of the second off starter Jonah Frankel. Right fielder Nate Gramman delivered a sacrifice fly to score first baseman Collin Scott and left fielder Kyle Ferrance recorded a two-run single to center field.
- The Shoremen got a run back in the bottom of the third as first baseman Max Hammond brought in right fielder Joe Otto with a booming double to left center.
- Washington closed within 3-2 in the fourth as Otto and third baseman Jack Kingman produced back-to-back doubles. Kingman later came around to even the game on an infield single to short by shortstop CJ Gillmer.
- The Shoremen took their first lead of the game, 4-3, in the bottom of the fifth inning as Otto lofted a sacrifice fly to center to plate left fielder Max Ruvo, who led off the frame with an infield single to third base.
- Franciscan got even in the top of the sixth after catcher Brendan Burke reached on a fielder choice, plating third baseman Joshua Costello.
- Washington, however, responded right away in their half of the sixth with six runs to break the game wide open. Center fielder Chris Kramedas launched his second double of the game to score Hammond to open the scoring. The Shoremen made it 6-4 as designated hitter Dylan Nepert doubled in pinch runner Ben Ruvo and catcher Ryan Zwier delivered an RBI infield single to score Nepert. Max Ruvo, who had singled and stolen a base, came around to score on a passed ball and second baseman Aaron Deutsch doubled in Chris Baker and Zwier to provide the finishing touches to the frame.
- The Shoremen put the game away with two more runs in the eighth as Gillmer brought in Deutsch and pinch runner Brandon Hoffman with a two-run RBI single.

- Reliever Ethan Osgood picked up his second win of the season in relief as he allowed just a run and two hits over 4.0 innings while fanning a pair.
- John Grill pitched the final two innings without yielding a run.
- Frankel kept his ERA at 0.00 despite pitching just 2.0 frames.
- Washington went 8-for-19 with runners in scoring position in the contest.
- Max Ruvo went 2-for-5 and stole a pair of bases. Ruvo is among the conference leaders with a .490 batting average and has a team-high nine stolen bases. He leads the league with 22 RBI.
- Hammond was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
- Zwier went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
- Gillmer went 2-for-5 with a team-high 3 RBI.

- Ferrance went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.
- Second baseman Brendan Wallace was 2-for-4.
- Jacob Watson took the loss after surrendering six earned runs on 11 hits over 5.1 innings of work.
