Box Score 2 Fort Pierce, Fla. – The Washington College Shoremen recorded two thrilling victories against Kenyon on Tuesday, defeating the Lords by scores of 9-8 and 5-4. The Shoremen have now won nine straight and improve to 10-3 on the season while Kenyon fell to 5-6. Washington exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning of the opener and then won the nightcap in walk-off fashion.
Game 1: Washington College 9, Kenyon 8, 7 innings
How It Happened
- Kenyon took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by designated hitter Luke Meister in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Lords made it 2-0 in the third on a fielder's choice RBI groundout by first baseman Alex Gow.
- Senior designated hitter Jack Kingman got the Shoremen on the board in the fourth as he produced a two-out RBI single to score senior left fielder Max Ruvo (walk, stolen base).
- Kenyon widened their lead to 6-1 after scoring four runs on four hits and an error in the bottom of the fourth. Catcher Andrew Rabinowitz produced a two-run single to highlight the frame.
- Washington exploded for eight runs on five hits and four walks in the top of the sixth to grab a 9-6 lead. Senior third baseman Joe Curtin plated the first two runs with a single, freshman second baseman Erik Risnychok drew a bases loaded walk, sophomore catcher Nick Tamberino registered an RBI on a fielder's choice, freshman center fielder Cael Magill lined an RBI single, senior right fielder Chris Baker smack a two-run triple down the first base line, and Ruvo recorded an RBI single.
- The Lords scored twice on two hits and an error in the bottom of the sixth to close within a run.
- Senior right-hander Alex Bendzlowicz came in to record the final four outs to notch the save.

- Curtin finished 3-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.
- Ruvo went 2-for-3, scored twice, walked, and drove in a run.
- Baker went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI and had the team's only extra-base hit (3B)
Pitching
- Sophomore lefty Izaiah Santiago (2 walks, 2 hits) made the start and allowed just one earned run over 3.0 innings.
- Junior righty Jay Nesson (2 walks, strikeout) was awarded his first win after yielding one earned run in 1.2 innings.
- Bendzlowicz (2 strike outs) picked up his first save of the season after retiring all four of the batters he faced.

- Meister went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI
- Rabinowitz was 1-for-2, drove in a pair and walked twice
Pitching
- Starter Frank Lynch allowed four earned runs on five hits over 5.0 innings. He walked four and fanned three.
- Hopper Rowe took the loss after yielding three earned runs without recording a single out.
Game Two: Washington College 5, Kenyon 4, 7 innings
How It Happened
-Kenyon jumped out on top in the top of the first on an RBI groundout by Ryan Beach-Verhey.
-The Lords scored three more in the fifth on three hits and an error. Malcom Gaynor produced a pair of runs on a two-out single and Beach-Verhey added an RBI single.
- The Shoremen evened the game with four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth. Senior second baseman Brandon Hoffman (single) scored on a triple to right field by freshman catcher Mike Bukowski. Freshman center fielder Magill then followed with an RBI single. Ruvo would later come up big as he smoked a two-run double with two outs to plate sophomore designated hitter Danny Sheeler (HBP) and Magill.
- Washington won the game in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh. Magill was hit by a pitch to open the frame. Baker then singled to put runners on first and second. Sheeler followed with a sacrifice bunt to move the runners over. Ruvo was then intentionally walked to load the bases for Curtin, who ended the game with a single to right field.

- Hoffman finished 2-for-3 with a run scored.
