CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College freshman sensation Joe Morrissey fired a nine-inning, complete-game shutout against the Dickinson Red Devils, helping lead the host Shoremen to a Centennial Conference Tournament berth for the first time since 2012. The hosts took the opener 6-0 and fell in the nightcap by a 15-3 margin. The Shoremen are now 24-15 overall and finished the regular-season with a 10-8 conference mark. The Maroon & White will be the No. 3 seed and wiil travel to No. 2 Franklin & Marshall in the Centennial Conference Tournament opening round on Thursday. No. 1 Swarthmore will host No. 4 Johns Hopkins in the other contest.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen busted out for four runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Senior second baseman Brandon Hoffman broke the ice with an RBI single through the left side to plate freshman catcher Mike Bukowski (single). Sophomore first baseman Danny Sheeler lifted an RBI sacrifice fly to score senior right fielder Chris Baker (single), freshman designated hitter Noah Iseman followed with an RBI double to plate Hoffman, and senior third baseman Joe Curtin delivered an RBI single to complete the scoring.
- Washington College scored the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth as Bukowski launched a two-run homer over the left-field fence to score senior shortstop CJ Gillmer (lead-off double).

- Bukowski went 2-for-3 (HR, 2 RBI) with two runs scored.
- Gillmer was 2-for-3 (2B) with a run scored.
- Iseman went 2-for-4 (2B, RBI) with a run scored.
Pitching
- Morrissey (7-2) pitched his second complete-game shutout of the season (first nine-inning game) and established a new single-season school record with 95 career strikeouts. He walked just one batter to go along with his nine punch outs. Morrissey threw a total of 118 pitches and 79 went for strikes. He was named the Goose Nation TV Player of the Game.

- Ethan Hamilton (4-4) allowed five earned runs on 10 hits over 7.0 innings and took the loss.
Game 2, Dickinson 15, Washington College 3
How It Happened
- The visitors scored five runs against starter Anthony Sofran over the first two innings and never looked back.
- Baker led-off the bottom of the first inning with a homer off starter Brian Riley.
- The Red Devils took a 6-1 lead into the top of the eighth and then exploded for nine runs in the frame to put the game out of reach.
- The hosts scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double by sophomore left fielder Logan Yi and freshman pinch-hitter Kyle Avellino added an RBI groundout.

-Hoffman went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
-Freshman catcher Nick Miller went 2-for-4 (first career hits) with a double and was named the Goose Nation TV Player of the Game.
Pitching
-Sofran dropped to 4-2 on the season and eight senior pitchers worked the remainder of the game.

-Second baseman Josh Heath went 3-for-5 (2 doubles) with 2 RBI
-Center fielder Ian Beumee was 2-for-4 (HR, 2 RBI) with three runs scored.
- Left fielder Tyler Scaff homered and drove in a pair of runs
Pitching
- Riley improved to 5-1 after allowing just a run on six hits over 6.0 innings.
Notes
-The Shoremen honored 19 seniors at the completion of game one.
- Morrissey finished the regular-season as the leader in strikeouts (95), innings pitched (69), complete-games (2), shutouts (2), and tied for first in wins (7). He's currently second in ERA (2.35).
-Sheeler is fifth in batting (.381) and tied for fourth in RBI (42).
