Box Score Aston Township, Pa. – The Washington College baseball team exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning and went on to defeat the Neumann Knights, 15-7, in the final regular-season contest for the Shoremen. The visitors, who will open the double-elimination Centennial Conference Tournament on Thursday at No. 2 Franklin & Marshall, improve to 25-15 on the season. The hosts drop to 11-20 overall.
How It Happened
- Neuman scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to strike first. Third baseman Marcus White smacked a lead-off homer off starter Alex Martin and pushed across their second run on a balk.
- The Shoremen scored three times in the top of the second to move ahead. Freshman right fielder Erik Risnychok drew a bases loaded walk and senior left fielder Brandon Hoffman produced a single up the middle for two more runs.
- The hosts got one back in the bottom of the second to even the score as left fielder Zach Ray hit an RBI single to center.
- Washington added three runs in the third to take the lead for good at 6-3. Sophomore designated hitter Logan Yi lined a two-run single down the left field line and Risnychok brought Yi home with a triple down the right field line.
- The Shoremen widened their lead to 13-3 in the top of the sixth inning with seven runs. Yi ignited the scoring with an RBI single through the left side, senior center fielder Ben Ruvo scored on a throwing error, Hoffman hit an RBI double, freshman first baseman Noah Iseman stroked a two-run double, and senior third baseman Joe Curtin closed things out with a two-run dinger to left.
- Neumann scored four times in the bottom of the seventh on four hits and two errors to close within 13-7. Designated hitter Andrew Curran recorded a fielder's choice RBI and second baseman Nick Glebocki had an RBI sacrifice fly.
- The visitors put the game away with two runs in the top of the eighth. Iseman scorched on RBI triple down the right field line and Curtin added an RBI sacrifice fly.

-Hoffman went 3-for-6 (3 RBI, 2B) and scored two runs.
-Iseman drew three walks and was 3-for-3 (2B, 3B) with 3 RBI.
- Yi scored three runs and was 2-for-5 with 3 RBI.

-Senior shortstop CJ Gillmer scored three runs, drew a pair of walks, and added two hits.
Pitching
-Freshman right-hander Ryan Corbin picked up his first career win after allowing just one run on four hits with five strikeouts over 4.0 innings of relief.

-White went 2-for-4 (HR) and scored a run.
-Ray went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Pitching
- Dan Carroll took the loss after allowing four earned runs on seven walks and two hits in just two innings of work.
Notes
- Iseman raised his average to .318 and enjoyed his first career game with three extra-base hits.
- Yi recorded his first three career RBI.
- Hoffman has recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games and is 17-for-38 ( .447) over the span.
