Junior baseball player
Cole McGee (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) is this week's Shoreman of the Week. McGee hit a team-high .533 with a squad-best eight hits with two home runs, three RBI, triple, three walks and two steals in four games for the Shoremen this week as he tallied a hit in all four games.
On Friday at Franklin & Marshall, McGee went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs, three runs, a walk and stolen base as he had the team's first two home run game by an individual this season. On Sunday in a 9-6 win over visiting Gettysburg in game one of the doubleheader, he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI and one triple. The junior plated the first run of the Shoremen's six-run bottom of the eighth to cut the lead to 5-4 and scored the run that put WC ahead for good, 6-5, in a 9-6 triumph. In game two of the twinbill he went 1-for-3 with a walk. On Tuesday versus F&M, he went 1-for-3 with a run, walk and steal. McGee tallied a .611 on-base percentage and slugged 1.067.
This is McGee's first career Shoreman of the Week honor.
