Shorewomen Soccer Sweeps Centennial Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards

Barnum Lands Offensive Player of the Week and Allen Garners Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Washington College has captured both Centennial Conference Player of the Week awards in women's soccer for the week of October 6-12. Freshman forward Lily Barnum (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) secured the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week and junior goalkeeper Olivia Allen (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) was selected the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week. This is the fourth time, and second time in 2025, Allen has been tabbed the Centennial's weekly award on defense, and it is Barnum's first time earning the conference's weekly award on offense.

Barnum factored into two of the team's three goals in a 2-0-0 week and achieved something no Shorewomen soccer player had ever done - scoring the game-winning goal against Johns Hopkins. In Saturday's 2-1 victory over the 23rd-ranked Blue Jays in Baltimore, the team's first against Johns Hopkins, the freshman netted the game-winning goal with 10:49 remaining. Barnum's goal completed a counter attack with Kaileigh Brady and Sophie Kilbride recording assists on the tally. It was also Barnum's first career goal. In Wednesday's 1-0 win against Ursinus, Barnum registered the assist on the goal by Brady in the 39th minute.

Allen made five saves and allowed just a penalty kick goal in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen. In Saturday's 2-1 win at 23rd-ranked Johns Hopkins, the junior stopped three shots. On Wednesday night, Allen turned away two shots as Washington blanked Ursinus 1-0.

This is the second time this fall that the Shorewomen have taken both the conference's weekly awards in women's soccer in the same week as Allen (defensive) and Kilbride (offensive) were picked on September 16.
