Reese Hirsh (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) share this week's Shoreman of the Week honor. SanFilippo went 6-for-7 with four RBI, while Hirsh was 5-for-6 with four RBI in a doubleheader on Sunday versus Franciscan in Fort Pierce, Florida.
SanFilippo was 3-for-3 with a career-best four RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 game one win. In the opener, he put the Shoremen ahead for good on an RBI double in the top of the second inning to ignite a five-run frame. He would add a two-run double in the top of the third to give the Shoremen a 7-0 lead and would plate his fourth run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth that made it 9-1. In game two versus Franciscan, the senior went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Hirsh went 3-for-4 with three RBI to tie his personal-best in the second game with all three of his hits being of the run scoring variety. He had an RBI single in the bottom of the first, plated a run on a double in the last of the fifth and a run scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. In the opener, the junior was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, an RBI and a walk in a 12-3 win with his RBI coming on a single in the top of the fifth.
This is the first career Shoreman of the Week honor for both SanFilippo and Hirsh.
