Chestertown, MD- The Washington College Women's Volleyball team finished the 2024 season even with a record of 12-12 under first year head coach Charlie Ginex. The team looks ahead to the 2025 season to improve their previous conference record of 2-8.
Last Season:
The Shorewomen recorded early notable wins against Moravian, 3-1, Catholic, 3-2, and Conference wins against McDaniel, 3-0, and Bryn Mawr, 3-0. Washington College finished ninth in conference, three seats out of playoffs. The team improved their 2023 record of 8-17 by four victories.
Returning for the Shorewomen:
The team will return Seniors, Giselle Kleinbussink and Allison McKechnie. Kleinbussink was second in the team in kills last season with 201 and McKechnie led the team in assists with 339. Lyndsey Wessel will return for the Shorewomen, bringing a defensive presence to the net as she recorded 47 blocks last season. Sophomore, Alexis Stubbs returns for the Shorewomen after tallying 44 service aces and 114 digs for the Shorewomen.

Key games:
The Shorewomen will open up their season on the road in North Jersey, playing four games in two days against William Paterson, Lynchburg, Montclair, and Hartwick. The Shorewomen will return home on Wednesday, September 3rd to take on Penn State York at 7 PM. The first conference contest for the Shorewomen is on the road on Saturday, October 4th at Gettysburg.
