Chase Ruppel - Shoreman of the Week

Senior baseball player Chase Ruppel (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) is this week's Shoreman of the Week  Ruppel hit .393 (11-for-28) with three home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs, 24 total bases an on-base percentage of .500, slugged .857 and had an OPS of 1.357 in a six games this week, recorded a hit in all six and registered his 100th career RBI.

In a 16-10 win over Monmouth (Ill.) on Wednesday, Ruppel went 4-for-6 with four runs scored, two home runs, three RBI and 10 total bases. The senior socked a lead-off home run in the bottom of the fourth that snapped a 4-4 tie and put the Shoremen ahead for good at 5-4 and would hit his second in the bottom of the eighth. In Tuesday's 17-12 victory in 10 innings against Northwestern (Minn.), the senior broke a 12-12 tie in the top of the 10th with a grand slam to put WC ahead 16-12 and in the process tallied his 100th career RBI. Against Franciscan on Monday in a 14-10 win, Ruppel was 2-for-4 with three RBI, all coming on a bases clearing double in the fourth that gave Washington a 9-4 lead as part of an eight-run inning. Both of his hits in the game were doubles. In Thursday's contest versus Marywood, he went 2-for-5 with two RBI, including an RBI triple and also reached base via a walk. On Friday against Heidelburg, the senior scored three times with a hit and a pair of walks. The senior capped his week in Florida with two walks, a hit and run scored in a 12-2 victory against Thiel.

This is Ruppel's second career Shoreman of the Week honor.
