Chestertown, MD- Washington College Baseball battled with Swarthmore for all nine innings, but could not hold Swarthmore off as they fell 18-13.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen trailed 6-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Drew Kinsey hit a home run to center field to put the Shoremen on the board as the lead off batter.
- Swarthmore put up five runs in the top of the sixth to go up 11-1 over the Shoremen.
- The Shoremen were threatened by the ten-run rule heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Brady Wozniak singled up the middle to lead off for the Shoremen.
- Brady Thompson who was entered in as a pinch hitter doubled to right field immediately after, sending Wozniak home and putting the Shoremen's second run on the board. Tahir Parker was hit by a pitch to put two on base with zero outs. The third run was sent across the plate as Kinsey doubled to left field allowing Dino DiMauro to score who was entered in to pinch run for Thompson.
- The Shoremen scored two runs as Brett Connolly reached first on an error. The Shoremen were down six, 11-5. With one out, Wyatt Udhe singled to right field and moved Connolly to second. Alex Dardaris was hit by a pitch to load the bases for the Shoremen, the bases were loaded with still one out. Swarthmore recorded two straight outs to get out of the half inning, the Shoremen still down 11-5.
- Swarthmore scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to extend their lead, 15-5.
- Dino DiMauro was walked to lead off the bottom of the eighth. He was batted in by Ty Powell who was entered in as a pinch hitter. The Shoremen avoided the run rule again, putting the score at 15-6. With two runners on base and no outs, Connolly homered to right field to send three runs home, the Shoremen still trailed, 15-9.
- Three singles put three runners on base with one out still in the bottom of the eighth for the Shoremen. Wozniak hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield, sending Ruppel home and the Shoremen were down five, 15-10.
- Swarthmore scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take their lead to eight, 18-10.
- Powell and Kinsey advanced bases due to a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth. Kinsey scored again on a wild pitch followed by Powell being sent home by Ruppel who hit a sacrifice fly to right field. Udhe was hit by a pitch with two outs. He was able to advance to third on a wild pitch and a few moments later was able to score by another wild pitch. The Shoremen trailed, 18-13. A fly out to the right field ended the game for the Shoremen as they split with Swarthmore on the year.
