Chase Ruppel (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) is this week's Shoreman of the Week Ruppel set the Shoremen Nine home run record and plated his 50th RBI of the season to highlight a 4-0 week for the team.
Ruppel hit .412 (7-for-17) with two home runs, six RBI, six runs, 13 total bases an on-base percentage of .524, slugged .765 and had an OPS of 1.289 this past week.
In a 13-12 win over Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday, the senior went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, two walks, a stolen base and the record setting home run in the bottom of the first on a solo blast to left field to put the Shoremen ahead for the rest of the game. On Friday in a 6-5 win at F&M that gave Washington its first season sweep of F&M in 10 years, he went 2-for-4 with a run and a steal. In Saturday's 8-7 game one victory versus Haverford, Ruppel parked his 13th home run of the season on a three-run long ball to left that put WC ahead for the remainder of the game at 4-2. In the second game, he tallied two hits with a walk, RBI and run scored as the Shoremen swept Haverford for the first time since 2016.
This is Ruppel's third career Shoreman of the Week honor.
