Chris Jamke was one of the most important players on the Washington College men’s basketball team during the winningest four-year stretch in its history, culminating with a national third-place finish his senior year.

As a freshman, Chris averaged 9.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game as the Shoremen finished 18-8 and advanced to the Middle-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Tournament. He upped his numbers across the board the following season, averaging 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks as the Shoremen turned in a 19-7 record and again qualified for the MAC Tournament.

The Shoremen stepped up a level Chris’s junior year as he averaged 10.5 points and 5.9 rebounds during the team’s 20-7 campaign which saw them not only advance to the MAC Tournament once again, but also land a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in team history.

Both Chris and the Shoremen had their best-ever seasons during his senior campaign. Chris nearly averaged a double-double with career bests of 16.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and the Shoremen won a program-record 25 games, finishing 25-6, advancing all the way to the 1990 NCAA Division III Semifinals, and winning the national third-place game.

Chris finished his career with 1,360 points (10th-most in school history) and 761 rebounds. With Chris on the team, the Shoremen went 82-28 over four years, playing in four MAC Tournaments and two NCAA Division III Tournaments.

Washington College considers it an honor and privilege to induct Chris "Bull" Jamke into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this 6th day of October, 2018.
