Thomas George is one of the best attackmen to enter into the Washington College Athletics Hall of Fame.  

George is listed at 10th in all time points for the program with 188. He also holds the ninth spot for career assists with 77.  

Thomas George is 5th in points in a season thanks to his stellar season in 1972 where he recorded 51 goals and 31 assists. For that same season, he sits at 10th all time for goals in a season. He also sits 8th in assists in a game with 6 against Franklin and Marshall in 1972.  

In 1971, his sophomore year, George scored at least one point in every game and finished the season with 17 goals and 17 assists.  

In four USILA Tournament game, George collected 24 points off of 13 goals and 11 assists. His team was ranked #12 at the end of the season and advanced all the way to the playoff final, but fell to Cortland.  

Thomas George was a two time Third Team All-American, earning the honor in his last two years at Washington College, 1972 and 1973. 

Upon graduation, Thomas George was drafted to try out for the Professional Box League Maryland Arrows. He then played club lacrosse for Chesapeake Lacrosse Club and returned to the club as Head Coach in 1981. He earned The Dukehart Award in 1977 for “perpetuation of the lacrosse spirit through discipline, dedication, and teamwork.” 

George went on to become a Vice President of Regional Banks for BB&T, the company with whom he retired from.  

Washington College considers it an honor and a privilege to induct Thomas George into the Athletic Hall of Fame this twenty-seventh day of September 2024.
