Probably the best way to describe Kurt Keller’s contribution to Washington College basketball is to label him as the “go to man at crunch time.” Whenever a key basket was needed, the team knew to get the ball into Kurt’s hands. The majority of the time it proved to be a very successful strategy.

While his outstanding offensive ability was the key to the team’s success, he was also an important defensive player. During his four years, Kurt accumulated a total of 1,346 points, placing him number seven on the all-time list of Washington College high scorers. During this time, Washington College’s record was 70 wins and 31 losses. He served as co-captain his junior year and as captain his senior year. In 1986 Kurt was selected first team All-American, Mid-Atlantic Region, as well as first team All State Division II-III. Additionally he was selected to several all-tournament teams. Kurt was selected by his teammates as the Most Valuable Player during his senior year. He was also a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity.

After college, Kurt worked for ten years as Associate Director of Technology for Ernst and Young. For the past three years he has served as Regional Manager for the Dell Computer Corp.

Washington College is proud and honored to induct Kurt Keller into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this 21st day of October, 2000.
