Jon Fellows was the best attackman in Division III as a senior. This is not an opinion, but a fact. Jon was named the NCAA Division III Attackman of the Year in 2002, ending an impressive collegiate lacrosse career on an incredible high note.
The Shoremen finished 13-4 in 2002, reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Jon scored 42 goals on 118 shots and handed out 35 assists for 77 total points that season. In the Shoremen’s win over Cabrini in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Jon scored six goals and assisted on two others. In addition to being named the Division III Attackman of the Year, he was chosen as a first-team All-American and a first-team All-Centennial Conference selection. He was also named a North/South Senior All-Star.
Two years earlier, Jon received All-America honors for the first time, garnering honorable mention recognition. With 24 goals and 20 assists during the 2000 season, Jon was also named to the All-Centennial Conference second team. All told, he finished his collegiate career with 108 goals, 99 assists, 207 total points, 346 shots, and 135 ground balls.
Over the course of Jon’s four-year career, the Shoremen went 49-23, appearing in the NCAA Tournament three times and advancing to the first two Centennial Conference Championship Games, held in 2001 and 2002.
A recipient of the College’s Senior Athletic Award in 2002, Jon stayed on as a graduate assistant coach for the Shoremen and earned his Master’s from the College in 2004. Jon also went on to play professional lacrosse.
Washington College considers it an honor and privilege to induct Jon Fellows into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this 18th day of October, 2014.
