J.D. Radebaugh, a skilled offensive midfielder and standout face-off man, transferred to Washington College in the fall of 1997. Just a few short months later, he was a national champion. Two years after that, he was a first-team All-American.

J.D.’s first year with the Shoremen saw them win their first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship and finish with a 14-4 record. J.D. scored two goals and scooped up  22 ground balls as a reserve.

The next year, J.D. took on a prominent roll, scoring 23 goals, handing out five assists, and recording 91 ground balls. He was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team and was chosen as an All-America honorable mention as the Shoremen went 12-3 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

J.D.’s finest season was his last. In 2000, he scored 38 goals, notched 17 assists, and picked up 107 ground balls as the team’s leading scorer and top face-off man on his way to All-America first-team and All-Centennial Conference first-team recognition. He was named a North/South Senior All-Star and was the recipient of the College’s Thomas Reeder Spedden Medal. The Shoremen finished the season 12-4 and again reached the NCAA Division III Tournament.

In his three years at Washington College, J.D. finished with 63 goals, 22 assists, 220 ground balls and 275 face-off wins in 469 attempts for a career face-off percentage of .586.

Washington College considers it an honor and privilege to induct J.D. Radebaugh into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this 18th day of October, 2014.
