Sarah Feyerherm was named the Washington College head field hockey coach before the 1993 season.
In 1996, Feyerherm led the program to a 13-5 record and a first NCAA Tournament appearance. The Shorewomen would go one step further in 1997 by winning the Centennial Conference and earning another selection to the NCAA Tournament. The program continued to compete for titles until Feyerherm left in 2002.
In total, Washington finished with a 104-70-2 record under Feyerherm with the programs only Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearances coming under her leadership.
Outside of Field Hockey, Sarah wore a few other hats for the department, spending time as the Sports Information Director and four seasons as the women’s lacrosse coach.
Feyerherm resides in Chestertown with her partner Penny and has continued to serve Washington College in an administrative role since stepping away from the field hockey program. In 2016, Feyerherm was named to her current post at the College, Vice President for Student Affairs.
She also serves the department as our Athletics Direct Report. Washington College is proud to welcome Sarah Feyerherm into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this sixth day of October, 2023.
