John Evans left Washington College as one of the most decorated swimmers in program history.

In his first season, Evans won three Centennial Conference Gold medals with top finishes in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley and a top finish in the 200-yard breaststroke that earned All-American honors.

Evans continued his success throughout his time at Washington College, finishing his career with six Centennial gold medals and two silver medals. Evans also set program record times in the 200-yard breaststroke (now second), the 400-yard individual medley (now third) and the 1000-yard freestyle (now fifth).

Not only did Evans excel in the pool but he also racked up the accolades outside of the pool by earning Scholar All-American honors in 2001 and two Scholar All-American honorable mentions in 2002 and 2004. Evans was also awarded the 2004 Alfred Reddish Award by the department.

Washington College is proud to welcome John Evans into its Athletic Hall of Fame on this sixth day of October, 2023.
