A solid standout in soccer, lacrosse and extracurricular activities at Washington College.

He captained the 1952 soccer team from his fullback position and by his outstanding play earned All-South, All-American and 1st team Mason-Dixon Conference honors.

In lacrosse he performed brilliantly as a face-off man and as a midfielder, earning 2nd team All-American recognition in 1953 when only one team was selected by the USILA. He co-captained that team, leading it in scoring with 34 goals.

He was class president twice, president of the Student Government Association in his senior year and active in Kappa Alpha fraternity.

A Catonsville, MD native, he graduated in 1953 with a degree in economics. He went to work for the Westinghouse Corporation.

He remained active in athletics. He was named mid-West Lacrosse Man-of-the-Year in 1976 and was elected to The Lacrosse Foundation Board of Directors to serve 1983-85.
